Waterborne Polyurethane Dispersion (PUD)

Waterborne Polyurethane Dispersion (PUD) Adhesives & Coatings

A wide range of waterborne polyurethane dispersions or PUDs are used in ink applications as well as OEM automotive coatings. UCOAT product variants include microemulsion grades with particle size as low as 20 nm (with a clear, non-milky appearance). Most UCOAT grades are non-yellowing, hydrolytically stable and form soft, flexible films.

Since they are water-based, they naturally contain low VOCs.  Also, they offer excellent dried film flexibility as well as abrasion resistance and adhesion to the substrate.

Most do not since they are based on aliphatic compounds.

Typically about 40%.  This is significantly higher than solvent- based polyurethane solutions.
