Did You Know: PELESTAT has been used in “Bulk Bags” for many years. Also known as Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers (FIBC), these bags are used to package large quantities (up to 2,000 lbs) of powdered ingredients for the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries. Normally, transfer of dry powders can cause dangerous static charge buildup, leading to explosions. However, PELECTRON, used in Type “D” Antistatic FIBC bags, prevents this by dissipating static electric charges as they are generated without the need for a ground wire. Surface resistivity values down to 10E9 are achievable. Unlike many other antistatic additives, PELESTAT is a PERMANENT antistatic additive. Also, it will not wear off and it is unaffected by changes in atmospheric humidity levels.
