Sanyo Chemical Industries, Ltd. announced new cold flow improver formulations for biodiesel fuels (BDF) under the “NEOPROVER” brand. These formulations, NEOPROVER HBF‑201 and NEOPROVER HBF‑301, are currently under development and are designed specifically for BDF derived from soybean oil and palm oil, respectively.
The formulations were designed with specific BDF conditions in mind, taking into account differences in low‑temperature properties and crystallization behavior arising from variations in feedstock oils. Performance evaluation and studies on application conditions are currently underway at the laboratory level, and these efforts are expected to lead to a broader range of cold flow improver solutions applicable to BDF derived from different feedstocks.
